Atiku Says He Defeated Buhari In 2019 Presidential Polls

Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari lost the presidential polls by about 1.6 million votes.

Atiku and the PDP reportedly made the submission in the petition filed before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja on Monday, to challenge APC and Buhari’s victory.

As earlier reported by Naija News, Atiku and the PDP on Monday, filed a 141-page petition containing five grounds, challenging Buhari’s victory at the 2019 presidential polls.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) were listed as the first to the third respondents, respectively.

Previously as reported by this online medium, INEC had declared that Buhari won the election with 15,191,847 votes to defeat Atiku, whom it said polled 11,262,978 votes.

But the petitioners stated that “from the data in the 1st respondent’s (INEC’s) server, the true, actual and correct results” from “state to state computation”, showed that Atiku polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat Buhari whom they said scored 16,741,430 votes.
