Deal agreed: Man Utd confirm £18m Daniel James as first summer signing

Manchester United have confirmed they have agreed a deal ‘in principle’ with Swansea City for Wales international Daniel James.
The club confirmed on their official website that the 21-year-old winger has successfully completed his medical at the AON training complex in Manchester, before joining up with Ryan Giggs’ Wales on international duty.
James is expected to cost the Red Devils £15m up front plus a further £3m in add-ons, as per the BBC . An official announcement for the player is expected when the international transfer window opens next week.
The transfer was finalised before Wales’ Euro 2020 qualifier away to Croatia on Saturday, in which James is likely to feature.
The winger has impressed this season at Swansea, showing electric pace and a willingness to take on defenders, something which has clearly impressed United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. James represents Solskjaer’s first signing of his reign, and is one that will excite fans as a promising youngster who has shown glimpses of his huge potential.
This is the sort of signing United should be getting over the line. James is not a ready-made star, but is an exciting prospect and was bought at a very affordable price. United fans will be hoping to see several more new arrivals before the summer window shuts with a huge overhaul still required.
